First, open a Word 2007 document. Click on the "PAGE LAYOUT" tab. Click on the little black arrow in the lower right corner next to the words Page Setup to open the Page Setup dialog box.

Once open, change the settings to match what is shown in the example below. Then click on the "DEFAULT" button.

When the new box opens, click on "YES" to set this as your default page setup. Now everytime you open a Word, the margins will be set to APA format.

If you ever need to change your margins, you can use the quick set drop down menu. Note that the "NORMAL" setting is your default APA format.
