Power Point Tips Please

Postby kealyp5 on Dec 30th, 2008, 9:24 pm

Hi,

I am going to be doing a Power Point presentation for my Religions of the World and would really appreciate some input. This power point is to be geared for the audience of ages 9-12 years of age. So.......my question is this:

If you were doing this presentation, how would you format it? What types of font would you use and backgrounds as well? I want to make sure I cover all of my bases and have a little bit of fun with it as well. The subject I am to cover is Judaism, and we have a specific list of topics that we are to include in the presentation. Any Ideas? Any would be greatly appreciated! Thanks =D

Interesting. I didn't have the age restriction on my final for this class. I would suggest going to the Office Web site and checking out the layouts and backgrounds there. I would simply suggest keeping it simple, visually appealing, and fun to view.

According to my syllabus we have an age that is it to be directed towards. Power points are not my forte and I struggle with them every time I have to do one. And for the final I have to visit another place of worship other than my own and then write about it. Isn't there a power point tutorial in this website?

Let's start at the beginning. What version of Power Point are you using (2000, XP, 2007, etc.) From there, I should be able to offer you some helpful tutorials. I would also spend some time searching for assistance within the help section of your program.

I am operating windows vista, microsoft word and power point 2007. I have basic ideas, but that is it, just very very basic. I don't know how to do anything snazzy with it, as I have seen some really good power points and I know that I have within my computer to do some pretty good stuff. Does that make any sense to you??? LOL now Im confusing myself!!!

2007 is a really nice program. I would highly suggest making use of the fonts and checking out the design tab. Here are some links you might find useful to get you going.

I hope these help. Once you get used to the program, you will love using it. I'm sure your presentation will be awesome. Let me know if I can do anything else to help.

Oh they helped alright! The Microsoft site was really easy to get the information that I needed. Between what you sent me and my boss helped me with I felt a little bit better about the presentation. I'm still struggling a little bit, but not like I was before. I cannot say Thank You enough!
