Good afternoon. My name is Linda and I am in my 2nd year at Axia taking the Healthcare Mangement classes. My goal is to eventually go for the BA if possible and minor in medical transcription. I was widowed 10 years ago and I found out the hard way how important it is to have a degree. I am currently not working due to taking off to care for my elderly Mom and this has enabled me to go to college online and helps me to be home in case I am needed. And it has paid off in the long run going to college this way.
I have two grown daughters and three grandkids, not counting the step daughters and their kids that is, that makes me a great grandma also and I am only 53. I have always wanted to go to school but never had the chance until now. It shows you never get to old to learn something new. I did work in home health, group homes for the mentally challenged as a home manager and night security at a retirement center. Needless to say I was very unimpressed with how I saw some places run and know it can put patients or clients in danger if not careful.
I am looking forward to meeting other students from Axia and learning more as I go each day.

I hope you find the site enjoyable as well as useful and visit regularly. As you have probably read, we are just over a week old and very much in the "growing" phase.
