I'm a new student at Axia..still in my first block. I'm going for my BS in IT and I'm looking forward to learning the ropes of online schooling and getting to the business of learning.

My husband and I are both from the San Francisco Bay Area (California)..we had one son, Kaden and then moved to Southern Oregon. Kaden is going to be 5 in a few days. We have another son, Kaleb and he's 3.

For the most part, I'm a stay at home mom....hang out with my kids all day (except when he's in school) and I work part-time, in the evenings. Adult interaction is nice.

In my "spare" time, I love digital photography & editing, music, exploring nature, reading, coffee, sleeping as much as possible...

I have to say, I was irritated that I could not get on the Axia College website last night so one of my assignments is late. Does that happen a lot??

Hi Shawndra and welcome to the site. I am also an IT student, as are a few others on here. I had not experienced the problems others had last night but it sounds like many did. It seems that there are times when their servers/sites just can't handle the traffic but I am sure they are working to rectify it.

I believe you have the opportunity to not get docked points for late assignments if it is due to a technical issue on their end. If I remember correctly, i think you just have to have a trouble ticket number and let your instructor know and they will sort it out for you. I would recommend posting a message to your instructors in your class chat forum or your individual forum to ask for specifics and see if there is anything they can do for you.

As far as your issues with the ecampus, this is not a common occurrence; however, it does happen from time to time. I try my best to provide the dates of upcoming system updates in the Site News and Announcements forum. It would be best to try to get your assignments turned in before the ecampus goes down for maintenance. (Next scheduled maintenance is set for December 6^thfrom 12 AM – 6 AM) In the event that you still get locked out or if the ecampus goes down for other reasons, call tech support and get a trouble ticket. Email your assignment to your instructor along with the trouble ticket number to prove that the assignment was completed on time and that you were having technical difficulties. Then, once you are able to sign into the ecampus, post the assignment in the appropriate forum, as your instructor per university policies, cannot grade the assignment unless it is posted to the appropriate forum. I hope this helps!

PS It is a good practice to copy and paste your instructors contact information and save it in a safe place. When the ecampus is down, there will be no way to retrieve this information.

Welcome to this site! Hope you enjoy this site as well as it may be helpful to you. I am too a stay at home mom and I have 3 boys. Tanner is 10, Carter is 4 and Evan is 1! So yeah they keep me very busy. If there is any way we can make this site better we are open to ideas. Take care and welcome!
