The first week of school, I felt much the same as what you describe. I am one year in and the new has worn off. I'm still SOOOO glad that i did this, but there are times that I would like a break. Unfortunately, the times that I need one are not between classes! When you feel like that, and they will come, you just have to tighten down and remind yourself why you are doing this to begin with. A great support network is essential as you go through the next 20 months. I don't know what I would do without my boyfriend. He teaches chemical engineering at Auburn University and has been my saving grace every step of the way.
Whatever you do, don't be afraid to reach out to your facilitators or your academic adviser. Your adviser (especially) will be your ally no matter what is going on. One suggestion that I would make is that you get in the habit now of making screen shots of all of the assignments you turn in. Axia launched the new site a few months ago and they are still improving it. However, I have had two occasions where my assignment has completely disappeared. Luckily, I was able to repost it along with the screenshot attached showing when it posted, so I was not pentalized. If you don't know how to do it, it's very easy:
Once you post your assignment and you see the confirmation, hit the "print screen" button on your keyboard. Then, open a new Word document and hit paste. To add additional posts, either add the next one above or below it, being careful not to accidentally overwrite a previous screenshot.
Screenshots are also useful to show a facilitator where something is posted if they say you have not turned it in. This has happened to me a few times. Just go to the screen where you see the assignment you turned in on the list, put your mouse pointer over it so it changes color, then do your screen shot and paste it in a new Word document. Then, answer their post about not turning the assignment in with a note to see attached. I will usually then do a screen shot of that post and add it to the document, showing that I responded, just in case I need it. Then, if it does not get graded, you have your original screen shot as well as what you responded with if you need to turn it over to your academic advisor.
Good luck with your classes. This is definately an edventure that will change your life for the better!
