Found out the answer. It was used to show me that the instructor had reviewed my response.

Some teachers will also give you a green "skittle", a green circle with an "s" in it, to show that it counted as a substansive reply to someone's dq answer. Not all teachers do it but they are nice if you have one that does.

The only ones I know are the ones I have come across so far.

The graduation cap is the instructors posts.
The green symbol with an s is for a substantial post for participation points.
The blue symbol with a ? is to let you know that the instructor has reviewed your response for discussion questions etc.
The red symbol with a u tells you that the instructor viewed your post it was an unsubstantial post for participation.

So far, these are the only symbols I have come across.

It means that your post was accepted as your intitial response and if you meet your word count you should see the green symbols after your participation responses. So blue: initial response Green: participation
The teacher must check it then put the symbols there. At the end of the week you should have 2 blue and 6 green in both DQ1 and 2 combined.
