I've done this project. What do you need to know?

I have done this one as well, I was a bit confused about it initially but then I realized I was definitely over thinking it, you are not expected to be an expert, just able to produce a basic diagram using the program.. It's basically intended to be an introduction to the application, and yes you will need a Visio diagram for your final so if you can make it apply to that, all the better.

I know that I am suppose to create a diagram, but what kind of diagram am I suppose to create? Do I follow the steps in the writing project or do I make a diagram on my own? Also is the diagram that I am suppose to make, suppos to be in my final project? Is the writing project part of the diagram for Visio?

The content of the chart that you make is entirely up to you, there really is no specific guidance to what it must or should contain. Ideally, you will want to make the chart represent something that applies to your final project topic. If you can use Visio to produce some sort of diagram or chart representing data that will be used in your final project, you will be just fine.

I'm sorry I can't give you more specifics on what I did, but we have a pretty strict policy here about what to post and what not to post. If you can find a particular set of statistics or time line that relates to your project, you can make that data into a chart or diagram for your project.

I know what I am am going to do for my final project, but I am talking about for the week 3 assignment. I just want to know if I follow the writing project to create the diagram for week 3. If I do, then the steps do not make sense.

Correct, it will seem to not make sense, and honestly it doesn't have to. the assignment is just to make a diagram.. It doesn't have to pertain to anything, and in your final project there is no requirement for it to have anything to do with your topic there either.. The assignment is just to get your feet wet and make sure you know how to open the program, create a simple chart and save it.

If you can find a way to tie it into your final project, you will be saving yourself work...

So we'll need Visio for the final then? Cuz I was hoping to save some $$ and download the 30-day trial for class, but I may as well buy it if I'm gonna need it for more than one application/class.

Ideally, if you can use this assignment to create the Visio diagram now that you will also be able to use in your final, you won't need to make a separate one for your final. I used the very same diagram for this particular assignment in my final project.
